Ranae has been on me to get one built for her ever since last summer. Time, money and a variety of other projects have taken priority until today. This new compost bin is comprised of three sections all 4ft by 4ft by 4ft. The front is made so we can slide boards in to act as a door but can remove them to shovel the contents out, etc.
In the first photo, the stuff in the left bin is from cleaning out our chicken coop. The stuff in the right bin is the contents of our last compost bin. Our last compost bin was full to the brim with just this bin’s contents, so you can see how much more room we now have.
This baby wasn’t cheap to build, but as my grand-daddy always said, “I’m too poor to be cheap”. The second photo is a summary of what it cost me to build this, not including what I paid our worker.
